Yes, I have delayed. I was given this Scripture several days before the 15th & just knew that it was an amazing Word from my Father. Then the question becomes - is my heart completely His? Of course I want to immediately say yes - right? But, the reality is that if I am honest with myself - I can't say that it is, 100% of the time. I want it to be & so I strive to surrender the things that cloud my vision, distort my thinking & interrupt my actions. It's actually why it is so critically important for each of us to understand that following Christ is not a "one-and-done" thing. It is a daily choice. A daily choice to seek Him. A daily choice to surrender. A daily choice to repent. A daily choice to love. A daily choice to live with purpose.
So, as we finish up this years commitment, I hope that you will continue on this journey - whether you join the 2019 Challenge with us - or if you go on your own. May you live with the knowledge that God truly wants to support those whose hearts are completely His.... What does it mean to "build yourself up"? Is it bad? Or is it Scriptural? As always, everything depends upon the lens in which you are looking through. If it is with a worldly intent then building yourself up is prideful, but in the Bible we are instructed to build ourselves up. How does this happen? It happens when we read Scripture, when we memorize Scripture and according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 14 when we pray in the Spirit. As I continually dive deeper into this relationship with God [Father, Son & Holy Spirit], it is incredible what we have been given to get us through this life on earth & yet, there begs the question - how much have we been forfeiting? I think a lot. I've become rather passionate about the Holy Spirit. I've known Him for a very long time, but even in myself I see a lack of teaching, wrongful thinking & just good old fashioned humanity that kept me from walking in His power. I hope to speak into others lives about this gift the Jesus asked the Father to give us. With that being said, I think that is why I love this small book of Jude & how much is packed into it. It has absolutely led me to this beautifully simple & yet profoundly powerful Scripture & one that I desperately want to invade me body, soul & spirit - heart, mind & will. What about you? Are you tired of walking around lifeless?
