The Modern Church

The other day I read a post and I can tell you that God has not let me, let it go. It was addressing how a church was correcting a member of their fellowship and it made me realize that, though their method appeared to be pretty biblical, when a believer doesn’t understand what church was really meant to be, it would absolutely 100% come across as being wrong. Which is an issue. The problem lies in many areas but I think the most prominent one is that man has redefined The definition of church and until we have a biblical understanding and desire for the truth —anything that the modern church has deemed unloving will be misinterpreted. The truth is that the type of fellowship that Christ called us to is nearly impossible on our own but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be the standard upon which we strive to live [in] Him. It is my hope and my desire to share what was actually intended but, also to live it out and to show people what it looks like. Is it uncomfortable? Absolutely. Does it go against our human nature? Absolutely. Will you buck against it? Yes until you surrender and until you desire to be who Christ called you to be. Why do I know that? Because I seek to live it. The truth is I will be learning what this looks like until the day I die— but I should never stop learning and I should never stop desiring to live in true Koinónia with other believers. We are all a part of the ekklésia and we are God’s instrument for advancing His kingdom and there is no Plan B so we need to be prepared and we need to be ready and we need to be engaged.
